Privacy policy

/en/privacy/

This lists exactly what the site actually collects. Nothing more is collected, and nothing is shared with anyone.

In short

The site does not require registration, create user accounts, or sell your data. You tell it everything it knows about you: your name and email in a form, and the text of your comment. With rare exceptions, tools and calculators run directly in your browser — nothing you enter is sent to the server.

What exactly is collected

Contact form

Name, email, and message text. The message is sent to the author as a notification and is not stored anywhere on the site: it is a way to reach a person, not a lead management system. Your email is used only to reply.

Comments

Name, optional email and website address, comment text, and date. Your name and comment are visible to everyone; your email is never published. A fingerprint of the address and browser is saved with the comment—not the actual values, but an irreversible hash of them. It is used to block spam, and neither the address nor the browser can be recovered from it.

Tools and calculators

Most tools calculate in your browser: anything you enter stays on your device. The few that need a server—redirect checks, analyzing someone else's page, and crawling a site—send only the address you entered and do not retain anything after responding. Each such tool states this clearly on its page.

Visit statistics

Google Analytics—and only with your consent. Until you agree, the tracker is not connected at all: it is not on the page, rather than being “there but silent.” Consent is requested once and stored in your browser; you can change your mind on the cookie policy page.

Our own ad blocks

The site’s ads are its own; there are no third-party ad networks. To avoid counting the same person twice in one day, we store an irreversible fingerprint—the same technique used for comments—which is kept for three months. It does not identify an address, browser, or person.

How long is this stored

Comments are kept as long as the record they belong to exists: they are part of the conversation, and deleting them retroactively would be wrong. Advertising impression fingerprints are kept for three months. Messages sent through the contact form are not stored at all. Everything else lives in your browser and disappears when you clear it.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete your comment or find out exactly what data about you is stored. Write through the contact form—I usually reply the same day. There is no separate department or request form: one person runs the site.
