Hi everyone. Today I want to tell you about a quick way to learn how to compile a quality list of classified ad sites in your country or a specific region.
A day ago, I received an offer to sell goods left over from a business that had closed. Naturally, building a website and driving traffic through paid search was out of the question. Classified ad sites are a great fit for this and can deliver quick results.
If the ads get too few views, you can also use Google Adwords / Yandex.Direct or paid services offered by classified ad sites (boosting an ad to the top, highlighting it, and so on). Fortunately, you can pay for them using any convenient method, such as WebMoney, Privat24, or Yandex.Money.
Since I mentioned paid services, I also want to share my experience placing a paid ad on a website and in an offline newspaper for the target region:
Can you believe it? I did this three times in a row. I created the ads, filled out a huge number of fields, and after moderation I couldn't edit them because they simply deleted them. The situation with classified ad sites in Ukraine is very sad. You can single out only one that is truly worthwhile and user-friendly: OLX.uaEverything is thought through down to the smallest detail...
But we need broad coverage of our target audience, so one site won't be enough. There's no point posting on every site either, since many are hopelessly spammed or have no traffic at all. That's what I want to discuss today and show you how to quickly and effectively filter out this useless junk for any region or even country.
When searching for classified ad sites, I think everyone enters the query "list of classified ad sites + region/country" and finds some lousy directories full of dead sites that generate no results. But we'll be smarter and compile the list ourselves. Just in case, I'll publish a list for Ukraine at the end of the post, although it may not be up to date in a couple of months. So let's get started:
How do you compile a list of high-traffic classified ad sites?
Just kidding :)
1. First, compile a list of existing classified ad sites in the target region. I used the FastTrust software, which has since evolved into an online version CheckTrust It is designed to check link quality, but we'll use it to scrape classified ad sites and sort them by quality.
2. Open FastTrust and select the tool "Search results" Then choose, for example, Google:
- Specify the region or domain zone, such as google.ru/google.com.ua, and so on.
- Select the desired number of results.
- Enter the query "Classified ad site"
You'll get a list of websites!
3. Repeat step 2 for the Yandex search engine using the same approach.
4. In steps 2 and 3, change the queries. For example: "post a free ad," "classified ad site + region," "auto classifieds," and so on. Use your imagination. If you don't have any, use Wordstat's query suggestions. https://wordstat.yandex.ru/.
The result should be a substantial list of classified ad sites:
5. Naturally, there are duplicates here, and we need to remove them using the magic button in FastTrust:
381 sites—you’re unlikely to find that many in a single list. If you need this list, you can download it:

6. Now we need to collect key metrics for the next stage of the site analysis and exclude low-traffic sites. You don’t have to do this, though—you can post ads on all the sites.
If we apply Pareto’s law (the 80/20 principle) wiki 20% of the sites in the list will generate 80% of the traffic/views, while the remaining 80% of the sites will generate only 20%. So now we’ll try to find that valuable 20%.

In my case, Li.ru stats are available on very few sites. In the UA segment, BigMir, I.ua, and Mail stats are used, or the stats are completely closed. LiveInternet is more popular in the Russian-speaking segment, but we won’t exclude it: even if it isn’t installed everywhere, it is available on some sites, so we can still draw conclusions about site traffic.
7. Clean up the list by removing entries with an Alexa Global Rank of "-1":
Sort the column "Daily traffic" and mark values above 10K visits per day, then sort by "Alexa" (the lower, the better). I chose a cutoff of 100,000 and removed everything above 100,000 from the list, except sites with more than 10K visits:
8. Now we need to remove off-topic and highly specialized sites from the database:
In my case, these are auto classifieds, job sites, and other junk I don’t need right now.
In total, I ended up with 17 high-quality, high-traffic classified sites out of 381. As promised at the beginning of the post, I’m sharing the list with you:

You can post ads on this list yourself and outsource the remaining sites (out of 381) to freelancers to expand your audience reach.
That’s it. As you can see, it didn’t take much time, and the result is impressive!

Так причем тут реклама? Я отбирал площадки с трафиком, а тут все работает. Зачем давать рекламу в 1000 досок объявлений, если всего 20 сайтов дают 80% трафика.

Я тоже так когда-то думал.))))))Но качество трафика мы таким методом не узнаем. Может оставшиеся 20% трафика это реальные люди, а 80% это боты? Ваша методика годится для форумов, но не для досок объявлений. Хотя даже на форумах некоторые умудряются жульничать.
